Karwar: Police officer dies of heart attack while on R-Day duty

Karwar: A traffic police officer suffered a massive heart attack while on Republic Day duty and later died.

ASI Abdul Khader Mohammad Sheikh died suffered a massive heart attack while on duty at 8.30 AM just as Republic  Day celebrations got underway on January 26. He was immediately rushed to the KRIMS Hospital in Karwar. However, he died at noon without responding to treatment, police said.

It is suspected that fatigue and low blood pressure lead to a heart attack.

Born in 1964in Karwar, ASI Shiekh joined the police force in 1992 as a constable. After serving in various police stations across Uttara Kannada district he rose to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector in 2019.
