Kasaragod: 60-year-old sentenced to 88 years RI for repeated sexual assault on minor

Kasaragod: A 60-year-old man was sentenced to 88 years of Rigorous imprisonment for sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl on multiple occasions.
A court in Kasaragod found the accused Muhammed alias Elsur Muhammed of Delampady guilty of all four charges against him.
Besides imprisonment, the court also imposed a fine of Rs 7 lakhs on the convict.
According to reports, Prakash Ammannaya, the public prosecutor for sex crimes against children said that the victim had said that Muhammed had sexually assaulted her at least three times. The accused, who worked as a daily wage laborer, took the girl to a rubber plantation by enticing her and sexually assaulted her there.
Two cases were filed against Muhammed at the Adhur police station under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act, 2012.
