Kasaragod: Toddler dies after falling into toilet pit

Kasaragod: A 2-year-old boy tragically lost his life after accidentally falling into a cesspit in Uppala on Wednesday, December 14.

The victim, identified as Abdul Rehman Sahadad, son of Abdul Samad of Uppala, fell into the pit constructed behind his residence for collecting toilet waste. The covering on the pit had reportedly developed cracks, which collapsed when the toddler walked over it.

Fire brigade personnel, who were called in to rescue the child,  pulled him out and rushed him to a Hospital in Uppala. However, he could not be saved.

A case has been registered at the Manjeshwar Police station in this regard.
