Kerala cybercrime has found two Kozhikode-based children swindling Rs 1 lakh from the account of their parents by using the smartphone for PUBG game.
A woman from Kozhikode had complained about someone withdrawing Rs 1 lakh from her account. The cybercrime police hit the trail of evidence and found that her two children studying in ninth and tenth standards, with the support of another student, who happens to be their relative, had spent this money for online gaming.
The children’s father is employed in a foreign country and he had procured a smartphone and a tab for the kids owing to the online classes. The kids used to play the banned PUBG game and in order to reach new stages of the game, they needed money. This led to the kids using their mother’s internet banking password and other information to withdraw money from her account.
Cyber cell inspector P Rajesh, led an investigation into the complaint and the incident came into light.
