Katapady: Two lorries collided with each other on National Highway 66 here on Saturday.

The accident occurred in front of the Kia showroom here, when a container lorry hit the rear-end of the cement mixer lorry.

The driver of the container truck, who had been pinned in the wreckage, was rescued with the help of the public and rushed to a hospital for medical treatment.

As the wreckage blocked the lanes, traffic was disrupted on the highway for some time. Kaup police have arrived at the scene.
