Kaup: The polling process at the Sakhi polling station of Mallaru General School in Kaup constituency continued even after the scheduled closing time. The slow pace of voting throughout the day reportedly led to a backlog, prompting authorities to extend the polling hours.
With a total of 1442 registered voters assigned to the Sakhi polling station, the voting process had been sluggish since the morning. As the clock struck 5 pm, it became evident that the pace would not be able to accommodate all the remaining voters within the allotted time.
Consequently, election officials decided to distribute tokens to the remaining voters, allowing them to cast their ballots even after the official closing time. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, additional polling staff has been deployed to ensure a smooth continuation of the voting process late into the night.
Voters present at the scene expressed their frustration and outrage over the slow pace of the voting process.
