Kodagu floods: KESST supports Sai Shankar Pushpagiri Education Project 2018

Kodagu: The most glorious examples of humanity are usually seen during devastating moments as was seen during the recent Kerala and Kodagu deluge or the earlier instances of 26/11 Mumbai attacks and many more.

These instances have only reinforced ones’ faith in humanity and it is with this belief that the Kodagu Educational and Social Service Trust (KESST) has put out a humble request to help support its endeavour to sponsor the education of those students who have been affected in the floods.

Education, as we know, is a powerful tool that helps a person overcome life’s several challenges, however, the displaced families, now face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives anew and are left with very little resources to educate their kids.

Moreover, several schools in the area too were impacted by the floods and the state government undertook measures to rehabilitate these kids at nearby government schools. The Sai Shankar (Residential) School Ponnampet is among one such organisation which has come forward to offer free education, ranging from Lower KG to 1st PUC (Class 11) to nearly 125 flood-affected children, including girl students.

This project of the school is being monitored by a committee of donors and school management. However, while the academics are being provided free by the school an approximate expenditure of Rs 35,000/- per child per year has been anticipated. KSSET is supporting this project by extending monetary and material support and has sought public help in this regards.

Contributions sent to the below-mentioned beneficiary details are exempt under Section 80G of Income Tax.
