KPCC likely to have four working presidents

Bengaluru: Caste and religious equations play a significant role in politics today. In this very backdrop, the Congress is mulling to create four posts of working presidents for the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) to achieve a caste balance and please all major communities in the state.
Notably, the posts of four KPCC working presidents will be in addition to one president of the KPCC and leader of the Congress legislature party.
Ishwar Khandre, who presently holds the post of KPCC working president represents Kalyana Karnataka (north) division. The party is likely to choose the other three working presidents from Mumbai Karnataka, Mysuru, and Bengaluru divisions.
On the issue of KPCC president post, Congress high command has invited prominent state party leaders to Delhi to hold discussions and arrive at a consensus.
D K Shivakumar is among the frontrunner for the post of KPCC president. However, it is alleged that few factions within state Congress are opposed to this move.
