Mangaluru: KPCC president DK Shivakumar who was confident before the results that the party would win both Sira and RR Nagar seats in Karnataka bypolls is now alleged that EVMs (electronic voting machines) were hacked and tampered with.
The Congress defeat in the Raja Rajeshwari Nagar and the Sira bye-elections has come as a major setback for the party and DK Shivakumar said that he was shocked by the results in Sira.
He also claimed that the electronic voting machines can be hacked and tampered with and therefore demanded an investigation.
It may be recalled that on Tuesday, November 10 following the party’s defeat Shivakumar had said, “I admit that we have failed. As the president of the state Congress unit, I take the responsibility; I won’t blame anyone else,”
