The Karnataka High Court has ordered transport unions in the state to refrain fromgoing on strike for the next three weeks.
The order came in response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by HM Venkatesh, which questioned the protest planned by a group of workers from the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC).
The two-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice Prasanna B Varale and Justice Ashok S Kinagi issued the order.
The court reasoned that the ongoing exams in the state would be disrupted if the transport workers went ahead with the strike, causing inconvenience to students and the public.
