Mangluru: As the state is gearing up for the Karnataka election 2023, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Ravi Kumar has instructed officials to monitor public gatherings and remove unauthorized billboards.
The DC has directed the officials to clear unauthorized banners, buntings, flexes, wall writings, and other advertisements in both urban and rural areas. He has also asked them to submit daily reports on progress in this regard.
Political parties and individuals have also been warned against holding public banquets without obtaining prior permission from relevant local bodies and departments. Any violation of this rule will result in strict action being taken under the Food Safety and Quality Act, Section 171 of IPC, and other relevant laws.
He further stated that permission for banners and buntings will only be granted on the condition that they are cleared after the meeting or event is over. Any activity that causes law and order issues, social unrest, or noise pollution should be dealt with immediately and reported to the district administration.
