Kundapur: House burgled as family goes on pilgrimage trip

Kundapur: A gang decamped with cash and other valuables from a residence at Vinayaka Nagara of Kumbashi village when the family members were away on a pilgrimage trip.
The theft came to light when the house owner Manjunatha Jogi and his family returned home on August 5 after visiting Pandarapura and Shirdi temple.
As per the complaint, filed at Kundapur police station, the family had left for the pilgrimage trip on July 29. When they returned on August 5, they found that the backdoor of the house had been broken and their cupboard was ransacked.
Gold jewelry, valuing around Rs 1.20 lakhs — 8 gms bracelet, chain weighing 12 gms, two rings weighing 7 gms totally — and Rs 13,500 cash was found missing.
An investigation is ongoing.
