Kundapur: Veteran politician A G Kodgi passes away

Kundapur: Veteran politician from the coastal Karnataka Amasebailu Gopalakrishna Kodgi (A G Kodgi) passed away at a private hospital in Manipal on Monday, June 13.

He had been active in the public political scene for over five decades. Under his leadership, Amasebailu became Karnataka’s first solar-powered Gram Panchayat.

AG Kodgi began his political career with the Congress party. He joined the BJP in 1993 and served in various capacities as the President of Kundapur Taluk, Udupi District, State Vice President, and other prominent positions.

In 2009, he was appointed as the president of the 3rd Financial Implementation Committee.
