Kundapura: 1 dead after tyre explosion causes car to overturn

Kundapura: A woman was killed when a car overturned after its tyre exploded near Hemmadi in the taluk here on Monday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Suhan (30), a resident of Kemannu village near Udupi.

Her husband Sigbatullah, four children and a three-month-old baby in the car sustained minor injuries.

The incident occurred when Sigbatullah and Suhan were returning to Udupi after visiting Suhan’s mother residing in Bhatkal.

Highway Patrol police assisted in transporting the accident victims to the hospital.

A case was later registered at the Kundapur traffic police station.
