Kundapura: Forest Dept staff caught accepting bribe during Lokayukta raid

Kundapura: A clerk at the office of the Deputy Conservator of Forest was caught accepting bribe during a Lokayukta operation on Wednesday, November 29.

The accused official has been identified as Manju Poojari, a typing assistant at the office. He was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a citizen, police added.

Manju Poojari had allegedly demanded bribes for moving the file to the relevant officer for the release of a vehicle detained by the forest department. Following this, the matter was reported to the Lokayukta Police who conducted a raid on Wednesday evening.

The suspect official was taken into custody along with the bribe money, police added.
