Kundapura: Villages sealed down after COVID-19 case detected

Kundapura: A woman who had returned from Mumbai two weeks ago has tested COVID-19 positive on May 29. She was admitted to a designated COVID-19 hospital in Udupi.

The woman was kept in a quarantine centre at Hattiangadi. 14 days, on May 28, she was sent home to Barikere. Her samples were sent for testing but had not returned.

On May 29 it was confirmed that she is infected from the virus.

About a dozen houses around the woman’s house were sealed by officials. Kotatattu gram panchayat development officer has been instructed to supply provisions needed by the residents of the houses.

Nearby villages of Kodi, Basrur, Neralakatte and Halnadu have also been sealed.
