Kuriya Double murder case: Accused sent to 15-day judicial custody

Puttur: A district court here remanded accused in Puttur doublue murder case to 15 days of judicial custody.

The accused Karim Khan was held for the brutal murder of a 16-year-old girl and her grandfather on November 17 at Ajaladi Hosamaru of Kuriya village after they caught him robbing money from their residence. The girl’s grandmother Khatijamma too sustained critical injuries in the attack,

He was arrested a day later on November 18. He was produced before the local court on Friday morning and was remanded to one-day police custody. The police had taken Karim to the crime scene for investigation and he was produced before the court on Friday night itself.

In his confession Karim confessed to having robbed a chain, weighing one sovereign, worn by Khatijamma and later pledging it at a bank. The police have collected CCTV footage of the accused visiting the bank to pledge the golden chain as evidence.
