Local Congress leader attacked

Mangaluru: A local Congress leader known for his social activism, was attacked by a lethal weapon near Lions Club, Bajal on Friday night, October 19th. The injured leader has been identified as Jhon Suresh.

Guru, a local rowdy sheeter followed John when he was heading home near Mangaladevi on his bike. He then stopped Jhon and attacked him with a sharp weapon.

However, Jhon managed to escape the life threatening attack and fled to his house, while the attacker threatened to kill him in the coming days. The incident came to light only on Saturday.

Jhon was admitted to the hospital by the locals and a case against Guru has been registered with Kankanady City Police.
