Madikeri: Wild elephants attack causes massive crop losses in Kopatti

Madikeri: A large number of crops were destroyed by wild elephants Kopatti village near Bhagamandala.
About 7 to 9 elephants entered and destroyed the village’s coffee, paddy and banana plantations.
Village residents stated that even though the issue of wild elephants attack was raised with the Forest Department since a month appropriate action was not taken by them.
The villagers have demanded that the elephants must be made to move back into the forest and proper relief be given to the villagers.
