Bengaluru: A 42-year-old man tried to sexually manhandle his 12-year-old girl when his wife was away at work. However, it is believed the suspect’s wife cooked up the story as the girl, a class 6 student, revealed no such assault.
The girl’s brother was at home when the occurrence is said to have happened, police said. The accused was a women’s tailor by profession before getting to be jobless half year back, his wife told the police. She said she was working as a dishwasher at a hotel to make a decent living.
The police complaint lodged by her mother said that on evening of March 2, 2018, the suspect attempted to sexually mishandle his daughter when she came back from school. She, in any case, got away and raised a caution, drawing neighbours. The neighbours called the mother.
“We have opened a case under the POCSO Act, however the mother and the little girl went to the police headquarters on Saturday requesting us to withdraw the case. The lady simply needs her husband to leave them,” a senior inspector said.
