Man carrying illicit liquor skids-off bike, suffers injuries

Kasaragod: A man, in possession of illicit liquor sustained serious injuries while trying to evade excise squad officials here on Sunday, February 9.

The injured biker has been identified as Naveen. Acting upon credible information, the excise officials signalled Naveen to stop his bike at Permude for inspection.

Instead of stopping his bike Naveen sped away and in a bid to escape the officials,  he ended up hitting the compound wall of a primary health center at Chevaru and suffered severe injuries. He has been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru.

The officials have confiscated liquor bottles from a bag they found in his bike.

A case has been registered by excise officials and Kumble Police.
