Bengaluru: While a large number of us see WhatsApp as a advantage, some have made utilization of this for wrong things.

Arun was an employee at a tours and travel agency back in April of this current year on the proposal of his friend. Just like the custom in the smaller organizations nowadays, he was added to the office WhatsApp group which had around 200 others. After a month, Arun quit the job.

What the others in the organization did not know was that Arun had figured out how to get the numbers of a few female employees and not long after he quit, a the female employees started getting lewd messages from an unknown number. Arun had obtained two numbers and started messaging these ladies secretly, asking them for sexual favors.

As indicated by one of the women, he would make video calls to her and uncover himself, continually trying to cover his face while he did as such. He would likewise insist on meeting the ladies.

Soon, the women discovered that there were others in the organization who were receiving similar messages and that the same individual was sending the messages.

The women had even brought the incident to the notice of the management however Arun was not deterred.

The women employees finally realized the person behind this and decided to confront him.

On Saturday, June 30, one of Arun’s targets approached him for a meeting to which he agreed. She, alongside Arun’s other targets and some male colleagues, went to meet the harasser. As one of the ladies was strolling towards the bus stand, Arun waylaid her and started requesting her to marry him, and also threatened to kidnap and marry her when she rejected him. Soon, her other colleagues surrounded Arun and whipped him.

The police have booked a complaint against Arun. He has been remanded to legal custody and sent to Parappana Agrahara central jail.
