Mangaluru: In a rather strange incident a man is said to have torched his own house allegedly to vent out the anger against his neighbour.

Mahesh, who resides on the fifth floor of an apartment complex located at Vyasanagara near KPT is said to have set fire to his house at around 8.30 pm on Sunday, February 10 reportedly after a verbal altercation with his neighbour over space for vehicle parking.

It is gathered that the families often quarrelled over the issue and on Sunday once again an argument began between them. An irritated Mahesh is said to have gone home and set fire to his house even as his wife and son were present in the flat.

Upon noticing the flames, the managing committee of the flat called the fire brigade who doused the flames.

The police have registered a case into the incident claiming it to be an accidental fire.
