Mangaluru: The man who had mysteriously gone missing at Ullal bridge and suspected to have jumped off the bridge into the river beneath has been found dead at NMPT port on Sunday August 25th. The deceased is identified as Sadashiva (29), a resident of Kadaba and had apparently committed suicide on Aug 16th.

The corpse was found by the coast guard personnel who immediately informed Panambur police. The corpse was later taken to Wenlock hospital for autopsy.

The corpse was identified positive by the family members of the deceased based on hos raincoat and tattoo.

The deceased was working at the railway station and was on his way to his rented house at Jeppinamogaru on August 16. However, he never reached his house and eventually his bike was found abandoned at Netravati bridge. The bike being new also contained its documents. It was suspected that he must have jumped off the bridge with the aim to commit suicide.

Although an extensive search was launched to recover the corpse, it was only found 10 days later, way off the actual location of the incident.

It may be noted that many people jumped off this bridge an in the recent past, Café Coffee Day founder V G Siddhartha Hegde too had committed suicide from the very bridge.
