Shivamogga: Authorities at Shivamogga Central Jail have filed a case against Aditya Rao, the convict involved in planting a bomb at Mangalore airport, for damaging the prison property here.

Aditya is serving prison time at Shivamogga Central Jail after a court sentenced him to 20 years of imprisonment in the Mangalore airport bomb case.

On May 31 afternoon, Aditya came near the video conferencing (VC) facility of the jail and asked if any inquiry was scheduled for him. The staff replied in negative after checking their records. Aditya walked away from the spot but soon turned back and hit a TV in the VC room with a stone thus damaging it.

The staff tried to grab him but he managed to escape and damaged another TV. He was soon overpowered by the jail staff and handed over to the jailer.
