
Mangaluru: 23.250 kg of cannabis seized, smuggler arrested

Mangaluru: The CCB Police have apprehended a man involved in smuggling banned cannabis (ganja) from Andhra Pradesh to Mangaluru and Kerala.
The accused, identified as Moiddeen Shabir (35) from Kasaragod district, was intercepted by a CCB team near Mudipu Kairagoli in the city.
Acting on a tip-off, the CCB police successfully apprehended Shabir as he was transporting 23.250 kg of ganja in a Mahindra car. The authorities also confiscated two mobile phones from the accused. The total value of the seized contraband and related items has been estimated at Rs 12,96,470.
It has been revealed that Shabir had been involved in several criminal activities, with 12 cases registered against him across various police stations in Kasaragod, Manjeshwar, Kumble, and Vidyanagar. These cases include charges as serious as murder.
