Mangaluru: 23-yo specially-abled girl found dead with mouth taped

In a case of suspected murder, a 23-year-old woman was found hanging dead with her mouth and hands taped at a rented house in Kolya Sarswath Coloney under Ullal police station limits.

The deceased identified as Saritha Varma (23) a native of Chattisgarh was a specially-abled girl with speech and hearing impairment. She was residing with her two brothers and sister-in-law in the house.

The incident took place on January 30 when the other occupants of the house had gone out. Police said that the house owners who happen to be elderly reside on the ground floor and had rented the house on the upper floor to Saritha’s family.

Police suspect the involvement of the person who delivers food to the house owners in the act as he had been spotted entering the compound.

Police said that the girl was hanged after being killed.

Ullal police registered a case and the suspect has been taken into custody for questioning.
