Mangaluru: Cop suspended after class 6 student injured in lathi charge at Tannirbhavi

A police constable has been placed under suspension for alleged use of excessive force while clearing traffic block at Tannirbhavi beach.
A departmental enquiry has been initiated against the constable identified as Sunil.
On January 1, the police had to resort to lathi-charging youths at Tannirbhavi beach to clear the traffic block. A class 6 student had sustained injury during the lathi charge.
After the matter was brought to the notice of city police commissioner, he sought a report from the inspector regarding the incident.
