Mangaluru Dasara: Traffic curbs on October 5, 6

Mangaluru: City police have announced traffic curbs and rerouting for the smooth functioning of Mangaluru Dasara procession on October 5 and the Sharada Shobha Yatre on October 6.
Mangaluru Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar has ordered that the curbs will be in operation from 2 pm on October 5 till 6 a.m. on October 6. Traffic movement on major city roads — Kulur Ferry Road (between Car Street-Kottara Chowki) and MG Road (from PVS Junction to Narayana Guru (Lady Hill) Circle) — has been forbidden. Vehicles must use alternate routes, the traffic advisory said.
Parking of vehicles has been banned on roads around Kudroli including Kudroli Narayana Guru College Junction to Barke Junction; Barke Junction to Durga Mahal Junction; Durga Mahal Junction to Alake Bridge; Mannagudda Gurji Junction to Urva Market Junction and cross-roads of Gandhinagar.
Traffic curbs for ‘Shobha Yatre’
Traffic curbs will also be in effect from 6 pm on October 6 to 6 AM on October 7 for the ‘Shobha Yatre’ of the Sharada idol installed at Acharya Mutt on the premises of Sri Venkataramana Temple in Car Street.
Entry of vehicles onto Car Street has been prohibited. Similarly, vehicle parking on roads where the procession passes is also banned.
