Mangaluru: In a shocking incident, an inebriated man forcefully slammed his infant onto the ground, allegedly with the intention to kill, right in front of the policemen.

The incident happened at the Kadri Police Station in the city.

The accused has been identified as Mahesh. His wife had lodged a domestic abuse complaint with the Kadri Police. It was alleged that Mahesh had been harassing the woman and her children for a long time and had threatened to kill them by setting them on fire.

Mahesh reportedly arrived at the police station with his children — a 6-year-old son and a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. When police tried to interrogate him, Mahesh allegedly obstructed the police and also threw the child he was carrying onto the floor.
