Mangaluru: Man sentenced to 5 years in jail for sexual assault of minor

Mangaluru: The additional district and sessions judge FTSC-1 (Pocso), Mangaluru, Manjula Itty, sentenced a man to 5 years of imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor.

The accused has been identified as Shekar alias J.D. Chandra Shekhar, a resident of Bejai Kapikad.

On June 21, 2022, he sexually assaulted a minor girl in the Hat Hill Judges Quarters parking lot. Following this, a case was registered against him.

The court also ordered the accused to pay Rs 1 lakh compensation to the victim’s family.
