Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary was the chief guest at the district’s Republic Day celebrations held at Nehru Maidan here.
Poojary hoisted the flag in a ceremony organised in a simple manner in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Parade, award distribution and folk song performance were conducted as part of the celebrations along with a speech by Poojary.
Vidhan Parishad chairman K Pratapachandra Shetty, Minister of Fisheries and Ports and Inland Transport Department S Angara, city’s Police Commissioner N Shashikumar, district’s Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra KV were also present in the celebrations.
