An MSc student who went missing on May 7 after appearing for her second-semester exams has been found in Aranthodu, Sullia.

It is gathered that Pandeshwar police went to Aranthodu and brought Elizabeth Deepika Ponnuraju to Mangaluru where she was reunited with her parents.

Ponnuraju, a native of Tamil Nadu and a first-year MSc student of Criminology and Forensic Science had gone missing on May 7. She went for her exams but as she did not return home later, her parents lodged a missing complaint at Pandeshwar station.

Reportedly, she had left her books and mobile behind in the college. The police searched for her but did not find any clues. On May 9, the Pandeshwar police received information that the missing student was in Aranthodu and they went there, brought her to Mangaluru, and handed her over to her parents.

Ponnuraju told the police that she was stressed because of the exams and thus decided to take some rest.

She, thus, left the college and boarded a Chikkamagaluru-bound KSRTC bus from Kankanadi. From there she boarded a bus going to Mysuru and then went to Madikeri on another bus. At this time, she met a Tamil-speaking girl at the bus station and came to Sullia with her on Wednesday.

She stayed the night at the girl’s house in Aranthodu.
