Mangaluru: In a reminder that age is no bar when it comes to education, a mother and her daughter from Kuttar in Munnur gram panchayat have passed the SSLC exam together this year.

While daughter Kushi passed the SSLC exam with distinction, her mother Mamatha succeeded in clearing the exam. She could not complete her SSLC 21 years ago.

Three years ago Mamatha made an unsuccessful attempt to pass the exam.

Mamatha attempted for the exam because she wanted to be promoted as an Anganwadi teacher. She is currently working as an assistant at an Anganwadi center in Kuttar Uchhil.

Reportedly, Bhagirathi, vice-principal of Hira Women’s College in Babbukatte helped Mamatha to prepare for the exam. After the results were announced there were celebrations as both mother and daughter duo had cleared the exam.
