Mangaluru: Officer for monitoring electoral malpractices appointed

Mangaluru: On instructions from the Election Commission of India, IRS officer Manjunath H S, who is the Deputy Director of Income Tax in Mangaluru, has been appointed as the officer in charge to monitor electoral malpractices and enforce the Model Code of Conduct.
Manjunath will be responsible for strictly enforcing the guidelines set forth by the ECI and ensuring that the upcoming state assembly elections are conducted smoothly, freely, and peacefully. In addition, he will also be keeping a close watch on any illegal money laundering, hoarding, or other irregularities related to election inducement.
In a notification, District Electoral Officer and Deputy Commissioner Ravikumar M R urged the public to report any such incidents to Manjunath H S. The public can contact him directly at his mobile number, 9353341788, if they come across any illegal activities, the release said.
