Mangaluru: One dead as hillside collapses in Surathkal

Mangaluru: A hillside collapsed near the railway bridge at Chelairu near Surathkal, resulting in one death and another person receiving serious injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Obaleshwara. The incident occurred when the rail repair works were underway.

A train arrived suddenly and the mud on the hill collapsed and crashed on the workers who were working beneath the bridge.

The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital.
