Mangaluru: PDO assaulted by youths for asking them to wear mask, case filed

Mangaluru: A group of five youths allegedly attacked a Public Development Officer (PDO) under the Mallur gram panchayat on Tuesday, May 25 for asking them to wear a mask.

Reportedly, PDO Rajendra Shetty had requested the five youths who were near the gram panchayat office to wear a mask, one of the attackers identified as Abubakar along with four others got annoyed and attacked the officer.

A case in this regard has been registered by the Mangaluru rural police under IPC sections 332, 504, 34 and section 5(1) of the Karnataka Epidemic Act in this connection.
