Mangaluru: Student members of the Campus Front of India (CFI) staged a protest on Wednesday near the main entrance of Mangalore University, condemning the invitation of RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat as the host of a function organized by the university.

Police resorted to a light lathi-charge to disperse the protesters.

The student activists raised slogans saying that Prabhakar Bhat, who makes “communal hate speeches” should not be allowed to participate in the varsity function.

However, despite the protest, Prabhakar Bhat has inaugurated the program.
