Mangaluru: A gang of Hindu youths allegedly assaulted a student Syed Rashim Ummer (20), accusing him of sharing a bus seat with a Hindu girl.

Rashim, a  student of a private college in Karkala, was assaulted inside the bus on November 24 in Nanthoor.

Every day, Syed Rashim and a Hindu girl from his class would travel in a private bus that takes the Karkala-Nitte route to reach Mangaluru.

On Thursday, 3-4 youths barged into the bus and assaulted Rashim. Rashim further said that the gang forced him to get off the bus and threatened to murder him if he told anyone about the assault.
