Mangaluru: Tarnishing the sanctity of Koragajja daiva; two held

Mangaluru: Police on Thursday has reportedly arrested two persons accused of tarnishing the sanctity of Sri BabbuSwamy Daivasthana at Yemmekere here.
The arrested are identified as Abdul Rahim and Abdul Taufeeq.
In the past few months around four cases of miscreants dropping objectionable writings and condoms in donation boxes of the Koragajja daiva had come to light. A case in this regard was registered at Pandeshwar, Kadri and Ullal police stations.
It is gathered that Nawaz, one of the miscreants involved in the crime took ill after the incident and died of an illness.
Suspecting that it was a curse from the deity, the arrested had arrived at the daivasthana here and revealed that they had committed some misdeeds and wanted to seek forgiveness for their act.
Following their confession, locals handed them over to the police.
