Mangaluru: Woman loses nearly Rs 3L in cyber fraud

Mangaluru: In yet another instance of cybercrime, a woman has been duped for Rs 2,94,830 by a person claiming to be working in the army.
The victim has filed a case in this regard at cybercrime police station and an investigation is underway.
The woman’s husband works at a flour mill.
As per the complaint, the caller who identified himself as Aman had contacted her over the phone stating that he was interested in buying maida flour. He told her to forward the QR code so that he could make the payment digitally.
The woman sent her QR code to the man. Following this a sum of nearly Rs 2,94,830 was withdrawn from her bank account in phases, she claimed.
