Mangaluru: Youth dies after falling from roof of workshop

Mangaluru: In a tragic incident, a youth died after falling from the roof of a workshop in the Baikampady Industrial Area here on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Varun (25), a resident of Yekkurgudde in Mangaluru.

Varun was working on a solar panel installation on the roof sheet of the workshop at around 5 pm on Thursday. wiring and plumbing for the solar panel on the roof sheet of the workshop around 5 pm. The roof sheet he was standing on suddenly shattered and he fell onto the floor.

Varun who suffered critical injuries was rushed to a hospital, however, he could not be saved.

Meanwhile, a complaint has been registered at Panambur police station against the contractor for safety violations.

Varun is survived by his mother and two younger brothers. He also served as BJP’s Yekkur booth secretary. Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath condoled Varun’s untimely demise.
