Mangaluru: Youth JD(S) activists gherao CP Yogeshwar, minister escapes from rear door

Mangaluru: On February 28, Dakshina Kannada Youth JD (S) gheraoed CP Yogeshwar, Tourism Minister for calling former Chief Minister Kumaraswamy a ‘joker.’
Under the leadership of Akshith Suvarna, the president of Youth JD (S), workers of JD (S) gathered near the hotel where the tourism minister was staying.
As CP Yogeshwar saw the crowd of JD (S) workers, he left for Bengaluru via private vehicle instead of his government car. The activists gheraoed the private vehicle escorting the tourism minister and protested.
Condemning the minister’s remark of calling HDK a joker, Akshith Suvarna, said, ” The minister has forgotten that JD (S) has a strong presence in Dakshina Kannada also, and is the reason why we have gathered here to show our strength. ”
The Tourism Minister escaped through the rear door of the hotel and reached the airport via another route.
Akshith further said,” The minister should have gone through the main door if had the guts. In the coming days, let him give up uttering such derogatory statements and behave abiding by his position.”
District organizing secretary of Dakshina Kannada Youth JD(S) Faizal Mohammed, president of Youth JD(S) Mangaluru North unit Rathish Karkera, vice president of Mangaluru north Hithesh Rai, vice president of Youth JD(S) Mohammed Asif, Sattar Bunder, Pradeep, Rohit, Srinath Poojary and many other activists participated in the protest.
