Many homes damaged from lightning strikes in Udupi dist on May 8

Udupi: Thundershowers accompanied by lightning in several parts of the district on Saturday caused heavy damages to residents properties.

Heavy rains damaged houses in Padumune, Hermunde, Marne and Yerlapvady in Karkala taluk.

The rains poured unevenly across the district with heavy downpour also reported from Brahmavara, Kaup, Malpe and Kota.

Other parts of the district such as Kundapura, Siddapura, Hosangadi, Hallihole, Shankaranarayana, Haladi, Goliangadi, Belve, Kollur, Jadkal, Muddur, Vandse, Basrur, Thekkatte and Koteshwara recevied moderate rainfall.
