Master plan for development of Udupi’s beaches soon: Dist. in-charge minister Angara

Udupi: Minister of State for Fisheries, Ports and Inland Transport Department of Karnataka S Angara said that a master plan will be prepared for the development of beaches of Udupi.

Angara, who is also the newly appointed in-charge minister for the district, spoke to Udayavani in an exclusive interview after inaugurating the DC’s office complex here on Thursday.

When asked about his plans for the development of the Udupi district, Angara said the administration will collect information from the public about their expectations.

Further, he said that a comprehensive master plan is being prepared for the development of famous as well as not-so-famous beaches in the district to promote tourism. “The issue will be discussed with the chief minister before state budget,” he said and added that discussions were held with the CM about developing islands on the public-private partnership (PPP) model.

In addition, the district in-charge minister said that religious tourism will also be given impetus and efforts will be made to generate more local jobs through the tourism sector.

Public consultation every Monday:

The minister also said that he would be available every Monday to listen to the problems of the district residents at his newly-opened office at the DC’s office complex. People can approach with their grievances to be solved, Angara said.
