Shivamogga: BJP state vice-president and Shikaripura candidate B Y Vijayendra on Sunday exuded confidence that his party would win more than 140 seats in the May 10 elections.
On May 10, the election will decide the future of the state. Prime Minister Modi himself has campaigned across the state for the election and this will influence our voters.
Addressing a gathering at Ayanur, Vijayendra said that Modi’s rally would affect the Congress vote bank. He expressed confidence of winning in seven constituencies of the district. “The Opposition’s dreams of coming to power in state by winning the elections will be shattered on May 13,” he said.
“Prime Minister Modi protected the country during Covid crisis. Imagine the same situation if Rahul Gandhi became the Prime Minister. Many countries in the world are facing an economic crisis. The situation of our country would have been similar if the Congress party was in power with Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister. India would have become bankrupt before Sri Lanka and Pakistan,” he said.
“The people of the state should strengthen Modi’s hand by voting for BJP. I am also facing the first election of my life,” said Vijayendra while urging voters to ensure BJP candidate victory in seven constituencies of the district.
