Washington: US First Lady Melania Trump has undergone surgery for what the White House described as a “benign kidney condition” and was expected to remain hospitalised for the rest of the week.
Her office said surgeons had performed an embolisation procedure on her at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center yesterday.
A statement was put out by the White House said, “This morning, First Lady Melania Trump underwent an embolisation procedure to treat a benign kidney condition.”
“The surgery was successful and there were no complications,” it said. Embolisation is most often used to block the blood supply to a tumour, benign or cancerous.
