Ullal: National Fisheries Development Board member Umesh Pochhappan visited Ullal, Someshwar and Uchila coast and conducted inspection on Sunday June 30th. The aim of his visit was to submit a report back to the union government detailing the problems being faced by the fishermen indulging in traditional fishing and by the people who live along the coast.
On this occasion, he held talks with the local residents and representatives of the people and gathered information regarding sea erosion which has been plaguing the area since decades and also causing problems to the fishermen.
He later spoke with the media and said, “Immediate discussions will be held with the concerned officials regarding the problems faced by the fishermen here and action will be taken,”
