Mangaluru: A case of medical negligence has been registered against a private hospital following the death of a person injured in a road accident admitted there.

The deceased, identified as Sabin, had met with an accident on June 10, 2022, at Kerala’s Kannur police station limits. He had been taken to Kannur Government Hospital for first aid and thereafter shifted to a private hospital there.

A while later, he was shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru for further treatment. He died on July 20.

The complaint, on Thursday at the Mangaluru East Police Station, alleged that the post-mortem report of the victim pointed the cause to be a wrongful procedure followed by the doctors who operated on Sabin.
