M’luru: Man thrashed, handed over to police for sexually harassing minor girl

Mangaluru: A man was beaten by the public for allegedly harassing a minor girl before handing him over to the police on Saturday.

The accused is identified as Nawaz (35) a resident of Ullal. He has been taken into custody by Kankanady police.

The incident occurred at Kankanady on Saturday, when an 8-year-old girl was plucking fruits. She was reportedly sexually harassed by the accused who was engaged in masonry work nearby.

Upon hearing the girl’s screams, the public nearby gathered at the spot, caught the accused, and thrashed him. he was later handed over to the police.

Meanwhile, Kankanady police have taken up an investigation.
